The Saturation of the Zombie Apocalypse

With the sneak preview of Season 2 of the Walking Dead at Comic-Con and news that a new Zombie Apocalypse is on the way, it seemed impossible to start this blog without giving such an all-pervasive science fiction phenom its due.

So I’m acknowledging the cultural power of zombies, and then dropping the subject. I’m saturated, and praying something less silly emerges soon. I know. It’s so popular that when the CDC used zombies to show the need for emergency preparedness, its website crashed. I’m just not one of the fans.

Some zombie art and posters are OK, though. The image above is a digital painting by Daren Bader for a trading card.  Here are some others.

In the artist’s words: “The Gunslinger was commissioned for Shane Hensley’s Deadlands. Undead mixed with Americana is always a favorite theme and this is one of my personal favorites. It was one of those rare paintings that just fell in place for me.” – Brom
